How to join TOEA

With 3 membership levels anyone can join TOEA!
Your membership will help promote Outdoor Education and will provide the opportunity for new generations to know the pleasures of nature.
The Texas Outdoor Education Association (T.O.E.A.) is recognized by the IRS as a 501c-3 non-profit educational association.  Your membership is considered a tax deductible donation.
The T.O.E.A. is seeking those who wish to protect our environment through providing Outdoor Education classes for our Youth in public and private schools in Texas.  Your membership will help promote Outdoor Education and will provide the opportunity for new generations to know the pleasures of nature.

Your membership will help fund the continued creation, development and distribution of Outdoor Education curriculum and materials that will encourage and promote Outdoor Education classes in Texas classrooms.

Your membership will also help create similar non-profit educational associations in other states.

By joining, you will also strengthen the relationship between young people and nature, to safeguard our natural resources both plant and animal, encourage youth to participate in activities that will become lifetime recreational opportunities and foster a true appreciation of the world around us.  The future of our fish and wildlife populations, our natural landscapes and our youth depends on you.  Please help us by joining now!

Where Your Money Will Go

100% of all membership donations to T.O.E.A. go toward the following:

1. To the acquisition, creation and distribution of materials and information that promote outdoor education

2. To the editing, production and distribution of lesson plans, materials and curriculum provided by Teacher/Administrator Members of T.O.E.A.

3. Advocacy with school officials and administrators to include Outdoor Education programs in the curriculum and to include the teaching of classroom subjects in an outdoor environment

4. For Outdoor Education equipment location/purchasing efforts

5. For public relations services and expenses related to the promotion and advancement of Outdoor Education through the media, conservation groups, sporting goods industry manufacturers, retailers and others including the distribution of Public Service Announcements

6. For production and promotional services that will help promote and encourage Outdoor Education through television and radio

7. For video production services to produce internal video projects enabling T.O.E.A. to expand Outdoor Education programs nationwide

8. Maintenance of the T.O.E.A. website

9. To fund the efforts to increase T.O.E.A. membership and expand the number of T.O.E.A. workshops

10. To assist with the creation and development of similar non-profit Associations in other states

11. General administration of TOEA

MEMBERSHIP LEVELS

The PayPal option for joining TOEA is temporarily unavailable.  Until the problems can be resolved, please contact Melissa Merritt at or Gary Guenthner at to request a membership application form.  We regret the inconvenience and are working diligently to correct the problem and restore the PayPal options.

Student - $10
This Membership is for college students at least 18 years of age and is for 12 months. The Student Member is eligible to attend T.O.E.A. workshops at the member rate.

Professional Categories

Teacher/Administrator - $20
This Membership is for teachers and Administrators only and is for 12 months. The Teacher/Administrator Member will be eligible to attend T.O.E.A. workshops at the member rate and access to T.O.E.A. acquired curriculum, materials and lesson plans.  Access to T.O.E.A. acquired curriculum, materials and lesson plans is available to Texas Teacher/Administrator members only.  A special life membership is available for this category of membership only.  If interested, contact the Vice President for Membership for more details.

Public - $125
The Public Membership is available to everyone.  It is a 12-month membership where the Member will receive information and materials for approaching their area schools to incorporate Outdoor Education at the local level. They will also be eligible to attend T.O.E.A. workshops at the member rate and receive official T.O.E.A. window decals and recognition on the T.O.E.A. website.

Premier Memberships
